conversation = inspiration

 

I am currently living in a liminal space. I always have but did not know the word for it. Liminality, that quality of ambiguity that occurs in the middle stage of a transition. It is the "neither here nor there" moment.

 

I have always lived in an unsettled “state of or”, letting the  perspective of other people illuminate the divide. With time, I have come to realize that these liminal states is where my deepest joy resides. It is in conversation with others and with life itself that I feel complete.

Why should I accept the narrow confines of my own story if I am to truly savor the mystery and staggering beauty of this existence? I don't just seek knowledge; I want to be inspired,  shocked, corrected, changed by the presence of others, all the others I can possibly encounter.​ I want to stand before life's true teachers—those extraordinary souls who inspire us to go beyond what we think we’re capable of. These are the essential people; the ones we desperately need and should actively pursue in our lives.

 

When we aren't who we were, and we aren't yet who we are going to be, we need new words. I have listened closely to these teachers, and now I am sending their echoes to you. Perhaps, like me, you will find the inspiration that calls you to cross your own horizon.
